Hi everyone, In my channel I mainly focus of metal casting projects using recycled scrap aluminum.
Aluminum is a very versatile material and in my channel I would like to promote the awareness of aluminum recycling via different metal casting projects.
In most of my videos I provide detailed explanations of all the the steps as how to create the sand mold, tips for best aluminum casting methods, homemade foundry equipment types and of course the importance of safety when working with molten aluminum.
So feel free to like, subscribe and I will be more then happy to answer any of your question if you leave me a comment.
Enjoy ;-)

In this video I captured my new DIY workbench that I welded from 50mm x 50mm square metal tubes, I used for this project x2 square tubes each 7.5M in length. The overall finished table size: W=600mm, L=2000mm and H=870mm. For the top of the table I used sheets of 18mm MDF and a metal plate. An alternative for welding can be by using nut and bolts to secure all of the workbench parts. Enjoy the ...

The safety warning disclaimer at the beginning was about one tenth of a second. Blink and you'll miss it. If you're going to take the time to include a safety warning or disclaimer, aim for 2 to 3 seconds next time. Yes people can always pause it to read the full statement which might take 30 seconds, but if it's only up for a tenth of a second most people will miss it entirely.

I searched 'Rust Removal by Electrolysis' on UA-cam, and this video popped up as the first one for me, so I followed this tutorial to make the electrolyte from technical soda. However, I currently don't have a car battery charger in operation, so I used a 12V 2A transformer instead. Anyway, thanks for the video tutorial👍 And coincidentally, I have a very similar adjustable wrench for rust removal. 🙂
can i put my car in this stuff?
Quicker just to use sand blasting
What is the crazy Roland TB303 music on this video? Its certainly not one of the two listed sources in 'more'.
Which one is best for rust removal sand blasting or electrolysis 🤔
POV Ohio kids
It turned out great! very nice. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Amsterdam.
Can baking soda be used instead of washing soda?
Citric acid after , not Cola. Cola have very small amount of acid.
Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge
Incredible technique showcased in this rust restoration video! Truly inspiring and motivating me to kickstart my own channel. Big thanks for the valuable insight! 😊
Leave in vinegar overnight, scrub with wire brush, rinse with water, and spray with WD40 will more or less yield the same results.
Awesome video. Watching the before and after while my grill grate derust outside in a bath 😁😁😁
I'm looking for actual rust removal. Everybody making videos on here perform it on things that a wire brush will take off 😂
So the wrench is hung on metal hooks at each end of the wrench. What are the hooks hanging on? 1x1 metal or wood sticks?
Good performance 😮
Wonder if it'd clean the rust off my brain if I stuck my hand in that container!😅
Very impressive🎉
Could stainless steel be used as the sacrificial piece I wonder?
can we use kerosene intend to lighter fluids?
Thanks for your very clear video. May I ask what grade of aluminium you used for the cleat? (or what item the aluminium was sourced from). Many thanks
my battery charger show fault and will not work. am I doing something wrong?
Use the older regular battery charger, not the newer smart battery charger.
Add and mix the soda before you put the things in there.
Can also use only 5vlt
Turn on CC Closed Caption. The CC button reads Subtitles/closed captions unavailable. For those of us with hearing difficulties, CC is a major help understanding what you are saying. Also, you have an accent many folks may find a challenge. Thank you.
Hi @ricdonato4328 thank you so much for bringing this to my attention I was not aware that CC option was inactive, I went ahead and edited the video setting and it should be working now. Regarding my accent not sure what is the challenge as the words are pronounced clear enough, interestingly from the many comments this is the first time anyone brought up, sorry this is something I can not edit, hope you enjoy the video ;-).
.... Nice job ... I coat pad with Vaseline , then dip in melted wax ... to light fold in half to break wax seal and leave in folded "A" shape ,, light middle of pad .. I have used these in sub zero temps at altitude with great results ... Waterproof and simple to use ...
Would this get moldy overtime?
Sorry, but tools are so inexpensive nowadays, I would just go out and buy a new crescent wrench. They are all made in China, so it doesn't matter what brand you buy.
So could you just use a 12 V battery?
Need a swimming pool, truck load of vinegar, and 30 battery chargers… IM DIPPIN MY WHOLE TRUCK! 😂😂
Don't do it, your car may be gone tomorrow, lol have a good day.
Very nice
can use salt or vinegar too or washing soda. and elektrolyse .then clean wash and heat parts and drop oil.
after all has clean have good if heat all bolts and nuts and drop to waste oil, then have good oiled and not rust more.
SAFETY ALERT: The video shows steel galvanize wire being used to hang the wrench which you can see is reacting way more than the wrench. @Flamingfurnace you are creating (hopefully not inhaling) highly dangerous hexavalent chromium gas. Use copper instead folks

Smoke inhalation: Burning cotton and candle wax can release harmful pollutants into the air, such as carbon monoxide and soot. Inhaling these pollutants can cause respiratory problems and other health problems. Food poisoning: Cotton and candle wax can contain harmful chemicals that can contaminate your food. Eating food that has been cooked with charcoal that has been lit with cotton dipped in candle wax could lead to food poisoning.
Not impressed. I expected better results.
Can u put gears with synchros in them?
It helps to place several sacrificial anodes around the item to be cleaned . The greatest current flows to the closest part of the item to the anode . By having more anodes you get better overall coverage and it works faster. Instead of oiling the tool after the derust process , you can spray it will a zinc rich coating. the surface of the steel is in perfect condition to take this kind of coating and it becomes very durable.
What’s the best metal to use as a sacrificial anode?
Interesting technique. More like lost foam casting than lost wax. Would be interesting to try with foaming PLA to hopefully vaporize more quickly.

I store a lot of my fire starters by putting them back in the bags from the cotton pads.
Coca cola make better job without electricity
I know, just look at my teeth. Have a good day .
Can any oil be used? Like cooking oil??
I loved this video. To the point and very easy to follow. Usually I derust with my bench grinder, occasionally I use my angle grinder paired with my vice, but they are all out of operation while I build a new work bench, so I'll give this a shot. I'm considering using a 5 gallon bucket for larger items. Thanks for the lesson 👍👍👍
Prefer sandblaster
How long do you let it do its thing
Can I use a 12V power adapter instead? I do not have a battery charger. What kind of metal can i use for the sacrificial one? :) Galvanized, etc ? Which ones are allowed? Thanks
Any power source you can adjust the current on will do. Galvanised steel definitely won't work , any bit of rusty iron will do the trick though.
